Yes, the use of pool, saunas, and gym is included in the room rate. The indoor pool is open daily from 07:00 to 19:00, saunas from 15:00 to 19:00.

Children have access to the indoor pool and the children’s sauna, open from 17:00 to 19:00. The rest of the sauna area is reserved for adults. A dedicated playroom is also available for children.

Cancellation conditions depend on the booked rate and season. Generally, direct bookings can be cancelled free of charge up to 14 days before arrival; only deposits already paid are retained. The exact conditions can be found in our GTC and your booking confirmation. We especially recommend travel cancellation insurance for families. 

Yes, a large free parking area is available directly at the hotel.

Check-in is possible from 14:00 on the day of arrival. On departure day, check-out is requested by 10:00.

Dogs are welcome at Hotel Asterbel for bookings in the Comfort or Romantic category made directly with the hotel. Please let us know at the time of booking if you are traveling with your pet. Please understand that pets are not allowed in certain areas (wellness & sunbathing lawn) and that a supplement applies.

Yes, if you book bed & breakfast only, you can additionally book the afternoon snack and/or the evening menu with South Tyrolean specialties.

Yes, in the morning you will find a rich breakfast buffet with regional products: fresh bread, homemade cakes, South Tyrolean cheeses and cold cuts, fresh fruit, muesli and much more.

In the afternoon we serve a traditional South Tyrolean snack buffet with drinks, salads, soups, snacks and sweet delicacies – ideal after an excursion or before relaxing in the wellness area.

Dinner offers a culinary experience with South Tyrolean and Mediterranean specialties. First, enjoy the buffet with antipasti, fresh salads, and soups. Then a four-course à la carte menu follows, changing daily. Finally, the buffet with fresh fruit and homemade desserts invites you to indulge. Our kitchen uses fresh, seasonal, and regional ingredients – such as local game – to create authentic dishes with great care.

No, drinks ordered for example in the restaurant, at the pool or at the hotel bar are not included and will be charged at the end of the stay.

Yes, upon request we also prepare vegan, gluten-free and lactose-free meals. Please inform us of your dietary requirements at the time of booking or at the latest upon arrival. A supplement may apply.

Yes, trekking poles and mountain bikes can be borrowed free of charge at the hotel.
E-bikes are available for a fee from our partner “Braies Rent”, located directly at the Villabassa/Niederdorf train station in summer.

Lake Braies can be reached in several ways: 
By car: between July 10 and September 10 the road is accessible from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm only with a transit permit, which our guests receive free of charge before arrival. Outside these times, access is free. Changes possible.
By bus: our guests receive a free Guest Pass for bus and train. Buses run regularly and conveniently connect the hotel with the lake.
On foot: Lake Braies can also be reached via a hiking trail. Walking time varies depending on the route, about 1.5 to 2 hours.

Yes, the Braies ski lifts are located directly in front of the hotel.
Guests of Asterbel receive a discount on group ski courses at the Braies Ski School (contact via email and phone).

New from the winter season 2025/26: at the Braies ski lift a toboggan run of about 2 km will be built – the first of its kind in South Tyrol. With special sledges pulled up by the lift, you can expect unique fun on the snow.

Several large ski resorts can be reached in a short drive:
Kronplatz (Valdaora): about 20 minutes
Haunold (San Candido): about 15 minutes
Helm (Versciaco): about 20 minutes

Yes, there are numerous well-prepared cross-country skiing trails in Braies and the surrounding area. Cross-country equipment and snowshoes can be rented for a fee directly from Alfred at Braies Rent next to the hotel.
